A US judge has ruled that Linden Lab’s terms of service for Second Life residents are not legally binding, according to court papers filed on Wednesday.

It will be interesting to see what consequences this will have for Second Life and MMORPGs. After all, the TOS is their most powerful legal safeguard against a lot of possible liability claims for lost data, rollbacks and other loss of virtual value.
